Our Course offerings

  • Private Coaching

    These sessions are priced dependent on the coach. These sessions have more flexibility in their timings and allow for students to get 1 : 1 or 2: 1 style coaching. These sessions will specifically target debater weaknesses and each lesson will be personalized to the child

  • Group Classes

    We offer a few levels of group classes. To determine which group class your child will be placed in, we offer a FREE 20 minute private session to assess their level of debate and knowledge, and to answer any questions they may have prior to starting with Alitheia.

  • Content Seminars

    We offer two kinds of content seminars. The first is a lecture series on content, this is going to be more general covering topics like International Relations, Finance, Social Justice and more. The second kind will be prior to competition prep classes, where we will assist students in their case building and give them an opportunity to test their case with others students.

FAQs

What are the benefits to debate?

Debate can lay the groundwork for everything else in your life. It is an easy way you can learn to effectively communicate in all settings. It is also a good way to practice critical thinking skills and your awareness of the world.

What makes you different from other academys?

We are a group of young people still heavily involved in the debating circuit, meaning we are constantly learning and adapting alongside our students. We have special knowledge about the Alberta debate circuit, which is very different than circuits around Canada and the United States.

Do you offer any fee waivers?

Yes! There should never be a large financial barrier to accessing debate training. Please reach out to alitheiadebateacademy@gmail.com for more information about how to access waivers. We also provide skill-based scholarships for returning students.

Why should I come to tournaments with you?

In addition to offering specific prep classes, you can opt for a coach to come alongside you to larger tournaments for post-round feedback and debriefs. In addition, if you register through Alitheia and win the tournament, you are refunded the tournament fee. All students succeeding are highlighted on our website for recognition of hardworking students.
